Snurfer Sculpture & Play It Forward Music Benefit


 
This video tells the story of the event that young entrepreneurs created with a Love Note Mini-grant to raise money for the sculpture and showcase local musicians.  In addition to expanding downtown Muskegon's collection of public art, the Snurfer Sculpture honors Sherm Poppen for his invention and its launch of the sport of snowboarding.

Love Muskegon?

Love Note to Pat Johnson

On January 3, 2012, we said goodbye to Pat Johnson, President Emeritus of the Community Foundation...the woman who "taught Muskegon how to give."   Her legacy contains so many love notes to Muskegon; we were grateful to be able to show our love back to her at the end of December in a whimsical but heartfelt way. (continue)

 

Love Your Community Mini-grant Winners

Read about last summer's top six vote-getters in our Facebook Love Your Community Mini-grant contest! Each of these Love Notes was created by the people, for the people, and projects are being implemented.  We're also excited to hear that some of the other ideas (not in our top six but still clearly winners!) might become reality as well because people are coming together to make them happen. LOVE is being declared for Muskegon County!  And the winners are...
