Ambassador History 

In 1988, a small but very dedicated group of Foundation donors with an initial combined gift of $8,000 established the Ambassadors program. Designed to further the growth and development of the Foundation and to broaden the base of major donors affiliated with the Foundation, the Ambassadors program provides an opportunity for special supporters of the Foundation to be recognized for their outstanding personal philanthropy. Ambassadors are encouraged to share advice and ideas for giving with each other, Foundation trustees, and staff throughout the year.

Since that modest beginning in 1988, the ranks of the Ambassadors program have increased to over 300 participants in 2007. They recognize that Muskegon's vitality and growth depends on a community commitment and a vision for the future backed by personal as well as corporate financial support.

All of the present Ambassadors program participants have set a distinguished leadership example by either making an outright gift of at least $10,000 to the Community Foundation, or have made a binding provision in their will, trust or other estate plan distribution.
